First Qualcomm RaceLegal event and we were filmed for HDNet!
Was a lot of fun. There were a lot of racers including a couple of police
officers with pursuit vehicles. One of the fun things for me was that the
cars were almost all slower than me (including a corvette with nitrous:),
but not racing slicks)
But it was about being filmed in HD For HDNet News Channel. We did three
runs with lots of interviews and talking to the crowd between. I lost the
first run to a super-charged car (same one that beat me at Barona). Won the
second round against a cobra Mustang even though my electronics shut the car
off after the half way point and I coasted across the finish line. I
changed the settings and I think they were the problem, but I don't know for
sure. I also won the third race against an all wheel drive something
(needless to say I was only worried about driving my car the best I could
and the car in the other lane didn't matter if it didn't have cobra
stripes). I ran two 8.1's and I don't know about the second run I'm guess
mid to high 9's. Now here is the funny thing. I looked at the racing
results, and if I would have turned in my time slip I would have won my
division (Super Street). I guess the motto is always turn in your slips,
you never know (they had really nice trophies too). You can bet that I'll
be racing there again as soon as I can :) But I'll heat up the batteries so
that I can get back to my 7.8 - 7.9 65% power times.

Cheers,

KD

Thats great!! This is 1/8 mile times right? I will
be looking for it on ZDnet. Have you thought of
posting the car on dragtimes.com ? It should get you
some more hits at the site and the mailing list server
is always ready to blitz to make your car the number
one of the month.

Hey KD

I agree that putting your car up at dragtimes.com is a great idea.

Before you came aboard [IIRC] on the EVDL, the EVDL folks had pushed the Wh=
ite Zombie and the Killacycle to the top of the heap at dragtimes.

It is a great way to maximize exposure in the ICE drag racing community.

Do it! And let the EVDL know and keep hammering the folks to vote for it. I=
t is a cutting edge vehicle and your ETs should continue to drop if you sti=
ck with it. (only 65% power?, you need a four-link dude! :^)

Good luck!

Roy

If not a four-link at the very minimum at least some Cal-Tracs traction ba=
rs.

I also agree about putting up on www.dragtimes.com
The EV community also pushed the Rod Wilde's Maniac Mazda as well as Matt G=
raham's Joule Injected to the featured car list as
well, In rapid succession IIRC. That was a fun EVolution to log in EVery =
night and see whene the votes were coming in. We would
all e-mail friends to spread the word, and if it didn't generate votes, at =
least it generated interest. You're car would make it
to "Featured" status in no time.

I'm running a 4 link rear end in drag racing position. Doesn't help the
ride much, but it keeps the tires from hopping under acceleration. And my
baby launches off the line. The reason I'm still only at 65% power is that
is where I had run out of brakes (which I fixed), and need to run the
wheelie bars (which is time consuming to put on and take off). I'm planning
on going to 100% (stepping up from 65% for safety) at the elctric draggin
event in January. I will be running heaters to the batteries to get them up
to their 70 degree c power sweet spot.

I will get out my time slips and start putting more of them on
dragtimes.com.

Thanks,

KD owner/builder/ driver 2SSIC
