First Qualcomm RaceLegal event and we were filmed for HDNet!
Was a lot of fun. There were a lot of racers including a couple of police
officers with pursuit vehicles. One of the fun things for me was that the
cars were almost all slower than me (including a corvette with nitrous
,
but not racing slicks)
But it was about being filmed in HD For HDNet News Channel. We did three
runs with lots of interviews and talking to the crowd between. I lost the
first run to a super-charged car (same one that beat me at Barona). Won the
second round against a cobra Mustang even though my electronics shut the car
off after the half way point and I coasted across the finish line. I
changed the settings and I think they were the problem, but I don't know for
sure. I also won the third race against an all wheel drive something
(needless to say I was only worried about driving my car the best I could
and the car in the other lane didn't matter if it didn't have cobra
stripes). I ran two 8.1's and I don't know about the second run I'm guess
mid to high 9's. Now here is the funny thing. I looked at the racing
results, and if I would have turned in my time slip I would have won my
division (Super Street). I guess the motto is always turn in your slips,
you never know (they had really nice trophies too). You can bet that I'll
be racing there again as soon as I can
But I'll heat up the batteries so
that I can get back to my 7.8 - 7.9 65% power times.
Cheers,
KD
