Why on earth would they do a direct comparison between a Ford Ranger Ev with
a lead pack ? ....
Great EV, don't get me wrong but why not compare it to another production EV
still in existence
that aligns more with what they built, say the Tesla Roadster ? .....

Interesting.

I graduated from this high school many long years ago. However we never had
the opportunity undertake such an enterprising venture. Now I am still
working on my first conversion and unfortunately I did not look the Fiero
over close enough since its been a total rebuild from the ground up.

<<< AutoBlog Green says "...DeLaSalle School students build super-efficient
electric car that gets 307 mpg..."

"...Testing on the 7.7 mile oval of Bridgestone's Texas Proving Ground

But the X-prize participants weren't single-seaters. If you calculate
as MPGe-per-person, a 4-seater getting 100MPGe is the same as this car
getting 400MPGe. Below a certain price range, there would be a market
for it, just as there should be for the Wrightspeed X-1 (a 2-seater).
As a single seat vehicle, this design is safer than the more common 2-
or 3-wheel equivalents, but still more than you should need to move a
single body down the road (i.e. wasted resources).
