This is probably old news, but here is an interesting flash animation =
about A123 battery pack:
http://www.a123systems.com/newsite/index.php#/technology/safety/schart5/
The animation runs too fast on my computer - I have to right-click =
often to pause it to get an idea of the system. Still I don=B4t =
understand how the cooling system works. There are wholes in the =
plate that comes at the end of the cells. First I thought the air =
flows through them. But then there is the black insulation (I think) =
- how does the air get to cool the cells?
I wonder why the insulation isn=B4t placed around the whole pack =
instead of single modules. Maybe it works as a fire wall between the =
modules also?
