On the sw200 one of the contact terminals ( not the coil) has the +
dose this go to the + traction battery or to the + controller for the
magnets to blow the arc out .

Hi, Steve. Consider the lowly contactor, one terminal marked (+) If we
connect it to the (+) of the Battery Pack, when it "ON" both terminals will
be positive, but when we "DE-ENERGIZE" the (+) will still be (+) from the
battery but the load (The Controller) terminal will go to (-) by
comparison. Come on, ask me a hard one...

I believe it indicates the direction of *current* flow for the blowout magnets to work (assuming current flows from + to -).

So for example, the contact "+" goes to pack "+", because current flows from pack to controller. If the contact was in the negative side of the pack, then the contact "+" goes away from pack "-".

If the contactor was used for a charger, then the contact "+" goes to the charger "+", and the other side of the contact to pack "+".

contactor , The way Dennis explained it made a lot of sense.
