Someone listed a link yesterday for an oregon company making 5 HP AC motors
out of old alternators, but I forgot to save the message (and link). Help!?

I believe this is the message you are referring to:

AC replacement. I'm guessing it's the DC from the RPM. B&S now only
makes the AC, I believe.

auto-alternators to 5HP AC motors. This is for electric go-carts. If
any one is interested, I'll locate thier website. OK well this is the
cart.. http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/876

The actual website wasn't given ... but I have the url, I'll just have
to dig for it.

Yes it is. But it wasn't anywhere I could find after a 20-minute search. ;)

Thanks, guys. I've got what I need now.

Not to sound smug, but it took me less than 30 seconds just now. I typed

ac motor alternator oregon

into the search box and it came right up. At least I >think< this is the
reference you mean.

The search on the archive works a fair bit like Yahoo or Google. Just use
the same techniques.

I found the same thing in 30 seconds. It just didn't contain the link I was
looking for. Thanks though.

Ah, yes, the "Randy motor"! Between that and Craig "deafscooter"
doping batteries and drag-racing e-scooters, a lot of ego spilled over
the wires...
