[EVDL] curtis controllers amps and volts

It seems that this has been answered before, but I am at work, spending too much time reading the EVDL, and can't search the archives. What is the relationship between battery amps and motor amps, and battery volts and motor volts? It seems that I remember the battery and motor are the same, but can't remember properly.
