Jim et al,

I replaced the end cap with the new one Jim sent. Can I collect
the list's knowledge on my craftsmanship? The new cap had the holes for the
terminals opposite (180deg) and the one on the motor had them at right
angles, so I had to reroute the cables.

Two items I am worried about are the lack of airspace in
this picture http://www.nn.cl/Autos/EV/NewEndCap/IMG_4626.JPG (90deg
made the brush and the terminal the same polarity, 180deg made the
terminal the opposise polarity as the brush besides it) and the sharp
180 the cable ends up doing in http://www.nn.cl/Autos/EV/NewEndCap/IMG_4627.JPG

My most advanced testing equipment (cheap chinese VOM) measures
no short between opposite poles (reads infinity in the over 20M scale)
and 0.3ohm between terminal and its same polarity brushes.

Thanks,

Hey Eduardo

I think I'd have opted to just drill a new terminal
hole into the plate but hey 8^P EVerything looked
good from here. The airgap on the one brush pic will
ease up once the brush is lowered by the spring. As
to the 180 bend on the one lead I'd opt to just route
it straight and take up the slack closer tothe
terminal but as long as the leads are stretched to
tight it's all good.

Hope this helps.
Hey before long ou'll be a bonified motor tech 8^)

BTW, sorry bout that, took so long to get a plate in I
didn't think to check terminal hole placement.
