Some of you might remember that CivicWithACord with its' 1200A Raptor and i=
nductive throttle had a vexing heat-sensitive diode that would give me 1/2 =
power (or so) when temps dropped below 38F. I'm not the type of guy who =
wants to throw up the hood and stand with a hair dryer on the controller. =
So Peter Senkowski of Sparrow fame, swapped out the controller board. =
I'm now a resistive throttle man like everyone else! Wow, what a feat=
her-touch on the throttle, after the big beefy spring on the slug/inductor =
system.
An added bonus is that my FM reception RAWCKS!
Top that off with finding out (after 6 years) that removing a grille in the=
center of the dash which diverts hot air toward the cabin, instead of the =
window, winds up allowing that wimpy ceramic element to do a respectable jo=
b defrosting the front windshield.
The only downside was the 3 week wait. Wahoo!
Thinking about converting a gen. 5 ('92-95) Honda Civic? My $23 "CivicWith=
ACord" DVD (57 mins.) shows ins and outs you'll encounter converting the se=
dan; the del Sol, or the hatchback. Each runs 144V/18 batteries. Primary f=
ocus on component/instrumentation/ battery placement and other consideratio=
ns. For more info, http://home.budget.net/~bbath/CivicWithACord.html
