Future Drive<http://futuredrive.wordpress.com/2007/10/03/electric-motor-comparison/>
offers
a comparison of four electric motors; each has potential for use in electric
vehicles, i.e., HEVs, PHEV, and BEVs. "The two really defining criteria are
power density and efficiency. Increased power density reduces the weight and
form factor of the motor needed for the application, and high efficiency
helps reduce overall energy losses."

The four compared are: UQM, AC Propulsion, Raser Technologies, and
PMLFlightlink. No mention of the motors commonly discussed here.

It excites me that this kind of comparison is being done at all. Makes me
hope that someday I'll see a Car and Driver comparo featuring six or seven
high-perfomance electric vehicles and waxing poetic about the virtues of AC
vs. DC, single motor vs. wheel-hub motors, etc...
