The heater core in my EV is shot, and I don't want to take apart the entire
dash to replace it. I'm wondering if there would be any issues with the
following two options:

1) The car originally had air conditioning, which I removed. Could I just
run hot water through the evaporator core?

2) I could buy a heater core to sit where the evaporator core used to be. =

The heater core would be vertical instead of flat. Is that okay for a core
meant to lie horizontally, or would I need to purchase a core specifically
meant to sit vertically?

Dennis, ( It must be great to be related to the Greek Lord of Partying..(I
was only named after him.)
Regarding the EV business below #1 will work but the original H.V.A.C.
controls will behave "Differently" #2 will work in either position if you
include a circulating pump to maintain correct water flow. In either case
use an additive for aluminum radiator systems to help prevent internal
corrosion, unless the evaporator is copper.
