Olaf Bleck's Solectria Force did 156 miles in the 2002 Tour de Sol, IIRC -
and that was at real world speeds.
He towed a small trailer full of batteries. You can just see the trailer in
this pic - it's a kid's sandbox on wheels. That alone apparently drew a
crowd. ;-)
