A high school chum of mine had a Morris Minor of about that vintage. I'm
not sure of the year, but it had the hole in the grill for the starting
crank. He'd inherited it from his father, who'd commuted in it for years.
By that time - 1971 or thereabouts - the body was mostly held together with
pop-riveted license plates and Bondo.

It had about as much go with the putt-putt ICE as most 1980s commuter EVs
with Prestolite motors and 400 amp controllers, so I guess a conversion
would have been an improvement.

But one day a torsion bar popped up through the rotting floorpan and poked
my friend in the bum. That was the end of "The Little Green Bomb."

Ohio winters were really tough on English and Italian cars of that vintage.
If you want one to convert, probably California is your best bet.
