I just purchased a 1997 S10 to convert to electric using all the parts from
my 1984 Chevy S10 (which I think is using the 87 transmission).

Do one of you have experience with adapting 9" ADC to 97 era S10 from
scratch with templates, drawings, and perhaps even a machine shop contact
info that did it for you?

I believe this the order
0. ADC motor and bell housing bolts to motor body. will the bell housing
line up with the 97 trans casing?
1. pilot bearing is same
2. adapter plate is the same if the clutch holes line up with flywheel
holes.
3. clutch type with female grooves to accept trans male grooves
4. then something goes on top of that sandwiching the clutch between #4 and
#2.

i'm going from memory when I took the motor out 9 months ago, so my #4 may
be wrong.

I think #2 is the thing I need to change so that the 97 clutch can attach
to it.
Is this as simple as bringing the 97 clutch and adapter plate and plastic
line up tool to a machine shop so they attach the two pieces.

Will I also have to build somehow a new bell housing?
how do I know the distance from motor to trans?

Thanks all,
more questions to follow I'm sure.

Ben

Doesn't Evparts.com make a kit for the S10 transmission already?
