Finally after two long years I am getting ready to install motor/trans and batteries in my Cavalier! I am going to have a 128volt lead battery system with 96volts in the rear and 32volts in the engine compartment.I have a 1231c Curtis controller, but looking at all the "how to " EV books I am unsure what and what size fuses I should have on each battery pack (and if they both should be separately fused, how much & where)..so I am throwing it out to the group for best ideas?. Looking for the most reliable and cost effective ones not necessarily the Cadillac of fuses, I see 400 amp ANE, KAAs, RF 400s, etc. on eBay so I need some guidance.?? Appreciate your help and looking forward to having this baby on the road soon ;>)

For a Curtis 1231C, I'd use a 200A or 225A Class T fuse in the battery pack.
These fuses are characterized for DC and blow after approximately 1 minute
at 2x the stamped current rating. DC-rated fuses are typically packed with
sand so that when the fusible link blows the sand quenches the arc that
otherwise would form.

I personally prefer Ferraz-Shawmut A3T (300VDC) and A6T (600VDC) fuses for
high energy DC interrupt usage. More data, including current versus time
curves, are in this document:
