I got a call from an outfit that has a fleet of NEVs made by Nevco in
Oregon or Washington (not sure which). Nevco is out of business, and
they have been having problems getting them serviced.

Does anyone have any experience with these NEVs? I'm on vacation this
week and so can't get over to take a look yet, but wanted to gather some
information before-hand. They apparently have 48v packs and a DCP
controller, and are having reliability problems.

I have a Nevco Gizmo EV. They were made in Eugene, OR.
There is a Gizmo user group on Yahoo. The website is
at www.nevco-ev.com. Carl Watkins still monitors the
email so he might be able to help.

I did find reliability issues with my Gizmo and have
systematically gone through all of the crimp
connections under the side panels and replaced them
with crimped, soldered, sealed connections and have
eliminated all but one issue.

My particular Gizmo came with a D&D Motors 6.7" SEM
with a Sevcon PowerPack controller. I understand that
there were several changes in the Gizmo from year to
year as improvements were made to the design along the
way.

What types of reliability problems are they having? I
may have an idea to help.
