This situation has reared it's ugly head one to many times. I went through this in the 70's when I built my first EV. People had some interest but resources were
were slim. People could touch the EV and see it run but, wanted that 250 mile gas tank. So 30+ years later I do see progress. It's the same old thing, Batteries, batteries, batteries. When we get reasonable priced batteries things will change.

Here in New Jersey people are interested. Not many have money to spend but, the interest is very high. The fact that the Leaf and Volt hybrid are coming out is not generating to much excitement, other than with us in the EV community.

I am teaching " Introduction to building an EV" course at the Morris County School of Technology. I am hoping this will generate more interest in EV's. We have a nice size class and it is now in progress. Plans for spring are to have a building class with two vehicles. The problem is, as always, money. If people have money to invest in a project the community will see two more EVs and generate interest at the public level. The school has decided going green would be advantageous to the community and we are presently making plans.

New Jersey is a tough place for EV's. Generating interest at the street level will help promote new EV sales. I hope!
