Nice article....strange how it took them so long to actually make the volt
with all this technical expertise from days gone by to build on......and
give the market to the Toyota Prius for 10 years....

Heck, in 1966 GM built the Electrovair, which was almost identical to
the lead-acid EV-1 in size, weight, speed, range, etc. It even had the
same type of drive (high-tech high voltage battery, 100kw 13,000rpm AC
induction motor, 3-phase inverter, no transmission, oil cooled, etc.)
Then, they built the ElectroVan, a fuel celled vehicles!
