[EVDL] potbox intallation question

722 Views 2 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  EVDL List
I am assembling the throttle potbox set up on my application. The first thing
I notice is that the travel of the potbox arm is about 1.5 inches and the
travel for the throttle cable is 2 and 1/4 inches. Although the stops on the
potbox seem well designed, I don't think they are designed for the abuse of
normal throttle use.

Are there any elegant solutions for this problem?
I would not consider a block of wood under the peddle an elegant solution.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

1) Lengthen the potbox arm.

OR

2) Fab a "bellcrank" that reduces the travel on the potbox side
3) Make a "block and tackle" type of arrangement

Hello Curt,

Do the adjustment at the accelerator peddle. You will note on some peddles
that there are a series of holes that you can move the throttle cable. My EV
has holes on the accelerator peddle swing and also on the brake and clutch
swing arms.
