I got my first Adapter Plate from EA about 15 years ago and Shari was
very helpful on the phone with me even though I pestered her for hours
trying to decide between a 6.7" and a 9" motor. Back the, knowing
nothing and not having the web, I got most of my information from
home power magazine which Shari wrote articles for .Years later, I
put together one of EA's Porsche kits and was in awe of the detail
that went into the instructions and fabricated parts ( at that time I
had already done more than a few one off conversions) . There are
people out there disguised as EV business's that are just in it for
the money but they are after big fish , not people buying parts for
conversions . This is a good example of how fast life will kick you
to the curb once you trip and don't get up fast enough. I hope they
can pull it together , maybe Mike could write one last book ,, " why
you don't want to go into EV's as a business" . I am sure they
haven't made enough money from their EV conversion business to retire.
I'd even be surprised if they could afford any kind of "Health
Care"...

Wishing them the best,
Steve Clunn

Hoping and Wishing...

Yes, Steve, let's wish EA the best, but the customer has got to come first.
So first, let's hope that they do the right thing with their customers.
We just heard from a local Portlander that's been waiting 2 months after
paying for an adapter plate from them only to be totally non-responsive in
all inquiries.
It's embarrassing...

Wishing and hoping-

Yep I know what your saying but I've been on the other side also . We
where selling a controller ( I won't say the name) that looked pretty
good in the beginning ( Zilla had stopped production and there was a
controller shortage along with a with a lot people getting interested
in ev's) 6 month down the road, one of their controllers blew, they
did some redesign and things started going down hill. Our customers
where not happy when their controllers started blowing up but they
would send them back to the manufacturer who kept fixing them and
again they would blow . So after a few cycles many just wanted their
money back . The Manufacturer would not give money back just kept on
repairing . A few cycles of this could eat up 6 months to a year and
there where lots of cars sitting around. I had loaned out every
controller I had . I bought a bunch of Kellys to loan to people
waiting for repairs. We did give some people their money back but
there just wasn't any money to give back after awhile. All the money
I made doing conversions went this way , I sold my ev race truck and
use the money from that also. I started testing all the repaired
controllers before sending them on and can remember sitting in my
truck with a newly repaired controller that just blew and my heart
pounding away, thinking I was having a heart attack, it was just
stress. There was just no way I could give 20 people the 1500 to 2000
dollars back.

I ll end this story on another post as I don't even want to think
about this any more.
