I like the idea to have a group set standards for conversions so the feds
might actually consider conversions a viable electric car just like
production EVs. Imagine how many more conversions would be done if the 7500
applied to conversions.
The up to 7500 was set to expire 12/31/2011. But that date is now moving
forward because the tax credit only starts to phase out over a year long
period after the first 200,000 units. The only EV manufacturer that has
even crossed 1000 units is tesla.
