Bob Rice. I see you got the Raptor back from Peter. May I suggest you
install a 60 watt bulb in series with pin 10 (the precharge circuit). I have
become something of an expert on blowing up Raptors. The precharge is their
Achilles heel. The fuse is supposed to blow before the precharge circuit. It
doesn't always.
3 creative ways to overload the precharge:
1. Miswire the heater or have the heater relay weld closed.
2. Too high a charging voltage. I got this trying to charge a pack with the
pack-splitting breaker open.
3. Opening the throttle when the contactor is not closed. Several ways this
could happen.
Anyway, the light bulb is cheap insurance.
