The Brit's have been running EV's since 1910's. There is a large utility =

vehicles demand, so they built a assembly plant here in the U.S. AT&T orde=
r =

about 42,000 of these EV's from Smith Electric.

See: http://www.smithelectric.com/products.aspx#smithNewton

If you go to the WEB site at www.smithelectric.com , you can either choose =

the American or Europe site. Look at the other WEB sites pertaining to the =

Smith Electric. One guy made a motor home out of one large van and put i=
n =

double the batteries and can easily go 150 miles.

With this discussion of the British EV developments, I am reminded of
a classic joke:

Q: Why haven't the British car manufacturers come out with a production EV yet?

A: They haven't managed to get one to leak oil in the proper manner.

Sorry. I just couldn't stop myself.
Bill D.

Alternatively:

A: They're still getting Lucas to handle the electrics.
