Do you have an electric car ... we are looking for stories of people
who have cars that require little or no gas to run ... respond if
you are interested in telling your story. You will be compensated
for your time.

http://losangeles.org/wst/tfr/2111262176.html
is apparently NOT the intended URL.

Back in the 1990's with all the many posts I made, one of the
traditions I created was to post near the new year what I doing (my
reasons for my postings, the methods, amount of work that going
into each, what filtering I do vs not do, which items I skip from
considering and why, and -more-). I planned to do again this year
in a different post.

On this thread, I was hoping my personal editing style I started
back in the 1990's was intuitive. But I respectively submit to the
evdl-bandwidth-police, I believe I should explain one point of my
editing style to help others understand.

I use the style of ... to mean: this part was
removed/clipped/censored; the URL was posted incomplete on
purpose (for whatever reason - email me direct with inquiries).

I like to take evdl member's posts as positive constructive
feedback with the list's interests in mind. So from the post:

http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/EVrWanted-Blog-about-driving-Leaf-EV-from-SF-to-NY-tp3051406p3052025.html

I decided in future items sourced from craigslist to ... the word
craigslist and [ edit ] portions of the body-text so they were-not
intact-copy of the item.

But now, though the item's contact email address does have
craigslist.org in it, that has caused confusion. In the future, I
believe this word-censorship will cause more confusion. Thus,
I will go-back to keeping the URL intact.

For this thread the URL is
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/tfr/2111262176.html

Note: some hosts remove their pages fairly quickly (i.e.:
Mercurynews). So a newswire URL from those short-sighted sources
might go bad/dead within a short-time. That is why I try to
condense and post the 'gist' of an item along with the source URL.

Happy Holidays,
Bruce {EVangel} Parmenter

Bruce,

While I admit it took a little getting used to the format, I do appreciate
your posts. So take this as constructive feedback -- I don't feel there
really are any ethical reasons to post a snippet of a news item and an
obfuscated URL. It crosses the line from giving a teaser and source to
basically stealing the news item and making it into your own content.
Besides, if the snippet is good we aren't very well served by not being able
to read the rest. So I hope you'll consider the importance of including full
URLs of the source for each and every item you post to EVDL. For maximum
effectiveness and permanence, perhaps include the full URL (that may get
mangled by less sophisticated email clients) as well as a short URL (that
won't get mangled, but may expire).

All this was based on my reading of your post that you decided to go back to
full URLs for Craigslist items but still had other reasons for not always
posting full URLs to news. If I misread, apologies.
