I found a hobbyist on ebay (Peter Papas) that will sell the same
vacuum switch as the one available on EV parts (or at least quite
close) for $17 SHIPPED TO YOUR DOOR - I paid $35 for mine. He is also
working on an inexpensive 12 volt vacuum pump/switch/relay combo that
could be used for EVs, which he believes he can make for <
$100....I'll keep you posted. I told him I would purchase the
prototype when/if he gets it built.

Sounds great, but with all due respect, I sure like
the way the Square D switch is programmable. I can
set the top end at 22 mm Hg, and the bottom at 10, and
get 4 actuations of the brakes before the purr of the
pump goes on.
