Hi Steve,

When I saw the subject line I thought the site went down.

I have to say, the San Diego group is just too efficient.

Discussion is underway for this to be a NEDRA sanctioned event but
there are a couple administrative details to be worked out since this
will be NEDRA's first 1/8 mile sanctioned event and it's the NEDRA
Season Opener. We've been communicating with Keith and the gang for
about a month and I have personally done some behind the scenes work
on the event as well. So NEDRA is well involved.

I was also planning on announcing this in tandem with another NEDRA
event that will be held simultaneously in Florida. Matt Graham and
Keith are working on these details. The coast that gets the most 1/8
mile NEDRA records wins bragging rights. But I haven't heard
officially if that is a go or not.

But we should have something up in the next week or so.

Hey Chip,

Actually, all I've been doing is "listening in" on a few emails that Charles
Whalen has copied me and Shawn Waggoner on, as he was the one discussing
things with Keith. I think Shawn just spoke with Keith about some initial
details and we should have some information for everyone soon.

We run the full 1/4 mile at Battery Beach Burnout so the goal will be to
grab records on both coasts with little overlap. There might be some high
school 96V and under cars at Battery Beach, but otherwise, everyone else
will be running the 1/4 mile drags and the autocross as well.

Hi, all,

NEDRA has been working behind the scenes to help present two races on the
same day, one in Florida and one in San Diego. These should be fun events,
although there is a three hour time differential.

Brian Hall, the NEDRA Southwest Race Director has agreed to be the NEDRA
race official for the San Diego race. Since the San Diego track is a 1/8
mile strip, NEDRA will sanction and record records ONLY for two-wheeled
vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles running 96 volts or less. All
four-wheeled vehicles must have a greater-than-90-inch wheel base.

All other vehicles and classes are the responsibility of the San Diego EAA
and track management.

I wish I was in a position to attend this San Diego race. I would really
like to try my skills at "Auto Cross". Maybe another year.

Don "Father Time" Crabtree
President, NEDRA
