It's a small bank (rated 6000 uf, tested out at 7200 uf at the motor shop), but works on any DC motor, and also works great as an add-on for more capacity. More capacity gives you much less lag and better performance, especially with lead-acid batteries.

I installed it about a year ago, but I'm upgrading to 250V so I have to upgrade this as well (surge voltage is only 200V on this bank). I only drove this car occasionally, so it saw very little use.

It only measures about 5 x 5 x 2 inches and comes with long connection cables. First dude to send me $60 gets it!!!! :)

I'm not really that much into how capacitors work and what the ratings are, so I probably couldn't answer that correctly. I remember the shop that built it said they were very high quality capacitors and they were made by Philips.... I believe they are electrolytic capacitors, if that sounds right.

I know it has three capacitors inside and I was going to open up the box and take some pictures, but the box has a water-tight seal and I didn't want to break the seal.

They charged me almost $200 for it, so I was assuming it's worth at least $60, but if not, you can offer me what you think it's worth -- you probably have a better idea what it's worth than I do.

Obviously you can offer for sale whatever you want. But why would you think this capacitor would have any value to an EV system?

When I bought this bank, I had a Curtis 1231 and someone told me I needed to add more caps if I wanted it to take off good on colder days (I have flooded cells) because the Curtis controllers don't have much internal capacity.

I was told it would eliminate the lag I had during hard take-offs. Well, it didn't really seem to help much, but I did notice a little difference. The car is very underpowered for it's weight, but I'm sure if this was a lighter car, adding the cap bank would have made a bigger difference. Obviously, a bigger bank would be even better, but I just don't have room for anything bigger in this car.
