This is actually new-old stock (NOS), I believe intended for the Jet Electrica ('81 Ford Escort), bought as leftover inventory when Jet closed their doors. Never mounted or run, except when I had it refreshed and bearings replaced (just in case). I bought this thinking it would be a drop-in replacement for my Lectric Leopard MTA-4001, but no luck.
This has been described to me as one of the sweetest motors out there for small vehicles. It weighs 105 lbs, it's rated for 96V but happy at up to 156V. Max operational rpm is 5500, can take 6500 rpm but not recommended.
The only point that might raise a question on this one is in fact a non-issue: minor surface rust on the shaft from long-term storage, which was stabilized with a wax-based coating. (The worst of it is shown in a photo.) The shaft is solid and true-to-size at Ø1.125.
The mounting face is tapped for four 1/2" bolts on a Ø7.25 bolt circle. The locating OD of the mount flange looks like Ø8.375 (not positive, don't have a caliper that big).
I'll throw in an unknown coupler (Chevette?) that I acquired somewhere that fits the shaft, is Ø3.25 OD and 1.625 long. It has a pilot bearing that projects .375, with an OD of 39mm (mating diameter for flywheel ID) and a bore of 20mm. It's tapped for six M10x1.0 bolts on a 59(?)mm circle. Bolts and additional motor bands are included.
Fun Fact: I came THIS close to not selling this and the other stuff I've posted, because this motor and the rest would be a perfect fit in a Moto Guzzi motorcycle. It would make a SPECTACULAR motorcycle conversion. But I simply cannot justify another project right now.
