i found an ac motor off a very very large industrial compressor. i didnt buy it, i just found it at a metal scrap yard i found my dc motor at.

its about 100-130lbs, and the tag said 305v 3 phase ac motor, and i didnt really read the rest sorry :$

if i buy this motor, is there any way i can buy a controller for it( assuming the old one is no good) and use it in an electric vehicle?


i mean aside from the size as im not sure if this is big enough for an ac motor?

any opinions welcome, i was just curious

do ac motors need specific controllers for themselves, or are they picky with which controller you couple them to?

ok i see. is it a challenging task because the motor might not provide the right power for the vehicle, or is it the cost/rarity of an industrial controller? im just wondering because the guy wanted to sel me it as " metal scrap" for....lets say under 100$ :$
