Hello everyone,

I've been doing a lot of research on here and it seems like using an automatic transmission is viable by deleting the torque converter and using an auxiliary pump. I am being given a 2000 Honda Civic with an automatic, and it is in great condition. I am looking at one of two paths. Doing a full manual swap or retaining the automatic.

For keeping an automatic, can anyone easily answer the following questions.

1) Does the input shaft need to be modified since there would be no fluid moving to a torque converter
2) Where would an auxiliary pump be plumbed? Do you need to drill and tap the case, or can you use existing ports like the drain port.
3) Is this just an overall terrible idea, or is it viable?
