I"m new to the forum and just beginning my research on making my own EV. I came across this website and am wondering if it's a fluf site or worth looking into their info. I did a search on the forum before posting this thread but couldn't find any info on it. Forgive the newbie, but that's why I'm asking. :)

Total SCAM steer way clear of this one. Just looking at the ad and how it's laid out should give the clue. Most sites you visit that look like this are total garbage hunting for your money and giving you useless information.

Kinda what I thought, but I wanted some confirmation. thanks!
You are already at the right place for info. Just click on the "WIKI" tab in the top right corner and read until your eyes start to cross:).

Later,

Found it, and they're crossed. I'm more confused now then when I got here, but I'm willing to keep learning!
If you just read through everything there right now, you are one unbelievably fast reader:eek:

Good luck with your research - no one said it would be easy,
Keith

All the information you need to convert or build EVs are available on the web free of charge.
If you want some good videos on a how to or just buy a how to package, KiwiEv and here is his profile. http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/member.php?u=33 But., you will probably and most likely find all you need on this forum. Lots of EV'ers here who have already built their own EV and can give you tips. Good luck and welcome

Awww, thanks HighTech! :)

Yes, as a fellow e-product seller I'd say be very wary of anything you see for sale on the internet, especially when it comes to electric cars or alternative fuels. There are too many con artists out there to count, and I get called a few nasty names myself every now and then.
In fact I got a bit narky with this person who accused me of all manner of things on the weekend: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=374960&l=a969a1849f&id=100000995745147

It comes with the territory I guess. I just need to grow a thicker skin. Bottom line: beware of all e-products and/or look for real testimonials from real people you've actually heard of.
look for real testimonials from real people you've actually heard of.
I'd go a bit further, stick to testimonials delivered first hand.

I bought it and am having a hard time getting my money back and until I do I will gladly continue wearing the "SUCKER" sign on my back. The downloaded book (really it is just a short document) is poorly written, very short, filled with fluff and repetition, includes incorrect drawings and misinformation, and could not be more vague with its instructions. There are no pictures except there are a few electrical schematics but I don't know what a couple of them are, they are all incomplete, poorly labeled, and one of them was drawn with MS Paint and is wrong anyway. It is nothing short of a SCAM! In retrospect the advertisement and testimonials are absolute LIES!
I, too also bought the e-book from gas2electricity.com and I noted a number of inaccuracies. I decided to do a book review on it and to put it diplomatically, in my opinion that e-book needs to be re-written with accurate and complete information. Just for a laugh, I even noted some of the things that in my opinion are errors. I'm not even sure if the people from gas2electricity.com have even done an EV conversion.

There are better publications out there and I'm in the process of putting together a list of books/publications I'm reviewing on Electric Vehicle Conversions.
Gav, where did you find this website template? It looks just like the gas2electricity site, or any other scam site. Complete with the risk free guarantee, the cut coupon border, the 'wait there's more' add-ons. What really sent a red flag was the "Don't leave this page!" plea when I closed the window.

I believe you to be a good guy, considering few other things I've seen from you. But if I saw your site alone, I would be scared off by the feel of it.
He's been told and has chosen to keep it. Too bad. I thought his original videos were reasonable but his site just trashed it and I guarantee it has cost him money. But then again there are thousands that just gobble this kind of garbage looking site as gospel and buy it hoping to find the next get rich quick thing. If it were me I'd most likely build one type of site for those foil head types and one for those that are truly serious about building an electric car. Catch both types and their money.
