This guy gets over 50MPH with his kart
The motor on his kart is a ME1719
...& it's powered by a 60V 50AH Chevy Volt battery module

Hi everyone, newbie here
I am thinking of converting a Tony Kart to electric but I would like to add a degree of complexity and put in elements more typical of a regular EV production car.
My idea is to be able to have regenerative braking but I've only just started to do some research so I don't have much of an idea at the moment. My budget would be around 1500 euros / 1770 dollars. I would also like the kart to reach 70 km/h / 44 mph if possible but I understand that this could make the project too expensive.
At the moment I have thought of something like this:
-E-Quadrocycle conversion kit 3kW ( Don´t know if it is enough power)
-48V 60Ah Li ion battery (the cheapest and most powerful I've found, maybe I should make my own one
-new controller that allows regenerative braking (haven´t found one yet -- need advice, this one is suitable for scooters as this video shows.
Do I need anything else? Is it feasible?
Thank you for your help.![]()
I’m running a me1507, Curtis 1238se 900amp and two Chevy volt batteries at 100v and it’s honestly the fastest thing I’ve ever driven PERIOD!Hi everyone, newbie here

I’m doing the same, but on a race kart with the new Curtis 1238se 900 amp, me1507 and 2 Chevy volt batteries and depending on my reduction I can go 130+mphThat is a great combination. I am running a ME 1507 with 2 Chevy volt batteries and doing over a hundred on a motorcycle that will run more in weight that a Kart. Regenerative Braking saves you a lot of braking and adds distance too!
(1)RLS_TPS Brk %: RLS TPS Braking Percent, the percent of Releasing Pedal BRK in max braking. Range: 0~50 This is used to adjust the regen current of releasing throttle regen mode type. The regen will happen as long as the throttle is released completely. Factory set is 0Have been playing with the idea to have a gokart/crosskart that was a hybrid. Gas and electric drive but when the gas is running using the regen braking controller to recharge the battery packs. And have it behave more like a generator in this mode. Any play with this option ?
