DC motor?
Does it have brushes? - if no brushes and commutator then it is an AC motor and will need an appropriate controller

How heavy is it? - I know it's a CRUDE indicator!
A useful motor will be in the 60 kg to 200 kg range -

I would say that was perfect! - the 11 inch Hitachi in my car is 105 kg

You may have a problem with voltage and rpm - the Hitachi is 48v and 1400 rpm - I'm running up to 5000 rpm - but I'm using 340v

If your motor is 500v and only 1500 rpm you may not be able to get it to a useful rpm in the car
