Has anyone gained experience with the HV PTC heater from the Electric Smart Car as sold by EV West?

I will be using one of those but cannot find much information about it.
I did find a photo from the 2011 Tokyo Motorshow

The HV-PTC provides up to 5 kW heating power at 350V, instead of 1-1.5 kW at 13V for existing parts. The HV-PTC is insulated to protect the user against electric shock due to high voltage level. In addition, integration with an electronic controller can optimize power consumption and comfort.

Especially the last sentence could be interesting.
I was just planning to use it on a on or off basis and variate temperature (heat production) by blowing through it slower or faster but if that can be done more sophisticated that would be welcome.
Any thoughts on such a controller for this element?

My project is still ongoing so I have not used/tested it yet.
Will be using it though but just as a simple on/of PTC.
Tried to get the (what appears to be) NTC alive but never got it working.
So unfortunately it'll just be a 'dumb' PTC.

What is NTC Alive?

By that I meant that I could get some usable temperature correlated signal out of it.
