I had never heard of a W20 spider, so of course I had to look it up...I own a 1996 Toyota MR2 (SW20) Spider, one of only 88 produced.

So, EV seems like the best route to keep my car on the road and keep a bit of (not very well known) Toyota history.
SW20 Spider (from Wikipedia)
If the comments in the Wikipedia article are true, Toyota may not want this bit of their history remembered.Between 1996 and 1999, Toyota TechnoCraft (TTC) produced 91 MKII SW20 MR2 Spiders. These cars featured a retractable, cloth softtop roof, wingless trunk lid, and an engine lid that was unique to the SW20 spider. Most of these cars were automatics and nearly all of them sported a naturally aspirated engine. Toyota decided against putting its name or logo on these cars as a result of its desire to distance itself from cars that featured leaky roofs. Most of the Spiders came in Lucerne Silver with a blue side moulding and featured black and blue accented cloth seats.[36]
Several of these cars have been imported into the UK.
For EV conversion, it should be the same as any W20 (second generation) MR2. There have been a few of those to use as sources of ideas.
