1 gal of gas contains 125000 BTUs. So converting BTUs to WATTS, you get + or - 36000 watts, depending on which online calculator you use.I heard that 8000W is approximately equal to a gal of gas. If your truck was rated for 20 miles per gal then about 8000W should get you about 20 miles. It worked out well for my conversion.
