My brother stumbled upon this sweet Palmer electric cart, that uses a Peerless Tecumseh 5 speed lawnmower transmission, which is driven via belt. I have been having a hell of a time finding a suitable motor, as the original one is smoked. The manufacturer of the cart claimed 24 mile range, with a max speed of 12 MPH using two group 24 batteries, in a 12V setup. I did some counting of teeth/wheel size, and figured out that I should see 15,632 engine rotations per mile in 5th gear, 39,341 in first gear. So, I guess I'm looking for a motor capable of at least 3100RPM to get that 12MPH in top gear. What I don't know is what kind of wattage I should be looking for? Seems everything I find doesnt spin fast enough, or likely wont have enough power. I would love some help!

The two closest options I have found are:

I think this one is probably too low RPM, but should definitely have enough power to get moving

This one just seems too small, and I worry about overheating.
