Hello everyone,
By the moment I am just gathering information about EV with the idea of building a small utility vehicle for use on a farm
Specifically I want to learn more about motors, controllers and everything related to them used in EV's.
Cheers,

Mastoc

Hi, just joined up. I'm thinking of taking on a project to convert a Volvo Amazon into electric. What I really want to do though is have a T5 Volvo engine for touring, with a small electric motor for the regular daily journeys; any advice and help much appreciated; I'm very new to EV conversions

Difficulty went from 1 to 10.

Maybe you can put an induction motor between the clutch and the wheels and drive the wheels with direct drive (no gearbox), having the gearbox in neutral and not engaging the ICE.

Another way is if you can somehow connect the e-motor through the ICE or gearbox without moving the pistons and shaft. Maybe like directly to second gear and disconnecting second gear from the rest, so that ICE only has 1,3,4, R. Second gear will always be engaged, but not affect anything (unless the e-motor is active).

These are just some thoughts, having both E-drive and an ICE is will be complicated.
