Hi to all from the western south side of the north of America, or the north western end of latin america
I am new to EV's but not so new to cars or to electrical stuff. So I decided to combine both areas into one and so I made my mind up to start a project to build an EV.
Will it work? I don't know, but we'll see.
Having several cars laying around (Honda's and Ford's) I see no problem on choosing the right base frame. So I decided to start with the drive train first, and leave the battery and frame matters to the end.
So here I am. Because I like to go a bit beyond regular edges I decided to explore not just on building an EV, but on building it a bit different.
Just for the sake of making my life difficult, I want to try a multi-phase system (more than 3 phases) and see how well it performs against a regular 3-phase one.
The way I plan to go is something like this:
1. Go with the motor first. Design it and have it rewound properly.
2. Then I will jump over the controller portion.
3. At the end I will get into the battery stuff.
At some point I will make my mind up as to what base frame I will use.
I am so new to this forum I don't even know if pictures can be uploaded here to show progress. But that I will also figure out a bit later.
Nice to meet you all and cheers.
Jorge
