Am i the only one that's talking about the AGDIB (aluminum-Graphite dual ion battery)? it seems there's a flood of new aluminum battery tech being developed but this one looks most promising in my opinion. it will have operation most similar to existing tech (no refilling on water or swapping aluminum cartridges). plus they are boasting some major stats on there.

i believe faster recharge time is one of them. they're using carbon nanotubes to overcome aluminum's limited amount of cycles

if you google agdib you'll get a handful of results, but none of them seem to really be mainstream.

Thoughts?

anyone heard anything on this particular new chemistry?

EDIT: maybe this should be in the 'news' section. whoops

looks like a flooded cell, in a coin?
coin? i dont follow.

rereading an article shows they were misrepresenting their data, comparing their figures to lithium tech a couple years ago. it's still impressive but needs improvement. if successful, it could unleash the cheap safe power of aluminum to the market. should be easily recycled?

if perfected, i postulate it could even end up with matching or higher kwh/kg than ncm because of lack of all the heavy metal. cobalt, nickel n manganese.

Hi Steve
There is ALWAYS new battery technology being developed
And 99.9% of it just seems to gurgle away down the drain never to be seen again
Not to mention the significant amount that appears to be purely a method of extracting money from investors

So most of just wait (and hope) until somebody gets something into production
