I don't remember for sure but I typically use a 12 V battery connected to a 50A power supply. The battery is necessary for the initial surge of current .

Thanks, That sounds good, I've got to seat in a new set of brushes, so will need to find a way to run the motor continuously for a few days with no load, It's not actually a Warp 9, but similar sized, so thought a more popular reference might get more replies!

I might try a 60A power supply with battery as suggested, but remove the battery once it's up and running due to the time involved.
