Do you have a datasheet and wiring diagram for the charger setup? I would be happy to review it and give you some possible pointers.I am struggling with the Valeo charger
It seems to somewhat communicate with the Orion 2 BMS
These are screenshots of before and after connecting to a wall charger
My questions are...what is Valeo Charging status 4? It has a Valeo Error CAN although it seems to communicate with it through the CAN adapter through the Orion software. Any thoughts of what to try?

First thing that comes to mind, does the Orion 2 or the Charger connect to the Proximity of the charger port? And what about the Control Pilot?
Happy to share. Which settings are most relevant?I would recommend grounding the saftey relay by hand instead of letting the orion control it for now.
As from what you posted it seems the following happens:
Orion 2 detects plug via proximity then enables the EVSE via the Control Pilot.
The EVSE applying 240/120Vac provides charging power to the Orion2 and 12V to the charger thus CAN comms is established.
Charger reports no voltage, thus the relay must be open between it and the charge port.
If you do the above and the Charger does not work or does not report voltage I would need to see your orion 2 settings.
Please try feeding charge port connectors directly to charger for AC voltage. Be good to see if the charger requires CP line to do anything else.Happy to share. Which settings are most relevant?
I am probably not understanding. The pins from the J1772 (that carry the 220V AC) are connected directly to the charger. There are other wires that also carry the 220V AC to an AC/DC converter to provide the BMS the 12V charge ready. From what I am understanding, this charger can only function through CAN communication (via the BMS). The pilot and proximity pins are going to the ORION BMS. My assessment so far (which may not be correct), is that the BMS is not receiving sufficient signals to tell the on-board charger to charge. Please try feeding charge port connectors directly to charger for AC voltage. Be good to see if the charger requires CP line to do anything else.
The charger should start to report the AC voltage on the CAN bus.
Ahhh...got it. Thanks! Here in the drawing there is a relay. Bypass this or measure the continuity between Type 1 charge port and charger connection.
If the AC/DC provides 12V and the charger does not report AC voltage something is wrong.

Yes! Thank you for reminding me. For whatever reason the BMS seems to not be detecting the EVSE when the J1772 is connected. I have confirmed that the proximity pin has 1.586V and that the pilot is giving out the proper signal.@snowdog I saw you posted a video, did you do the testing as I suggested you should do?
My offer to help you through it is still open, it would be good to know what functionality you are getting.
Like does the Orion 2 list out the EVSE J1772 parameters correctly when connected, so Proximity and Pilot Signal values. As the Orion is wired to control the EVSE so if that does not close something is not happy inside the Orion.
