I changed the 12 v battery in 2015 EV Smart Car and ignition key was on when I placed the positive cable to the battery. This caused many problem lights to come on and an error message stating "HV battery problem, take to shop" I live 80 miles from the nearest Smartcar shop and don't feel like that is necessary. I would like to cancel out the error message to see if it comes back on or not. I don't know how to cancel the error message. Do any of you?

Thanks for your effort. I tried your method 3 times and it didn't fix it. It drives very well. I drove to an AutoZone for an OBD check but it wouldn't read the error. The OBD kept saying "turn the ignition on" which I did numerous times but still wouldn't read the computer. It seems to drive just fine. Regeneration to HV battery works upon deceleration as it should. I drove it down to 80%, connected the charger upon returning to house and it shows to be charging just fine. I rechecked the 12v battery and it is charging (charges off the HV battery). I am out of ideas. Thanks for your suggestion however.
