I'd like to invest soon. I'm almost over my contempt for the stock market enough to learn how to make some money. lol..
Honestly I have no clue where to start, how to even buy stock.

I wouldn't do Tesla though. They had such a great head start and backing but don't seem to be going _anywhere_. If they don't get their collective heads out of their asses and get that sedan on the market then I believe they are doomed to a long drawn-out failure.

I meant, how do I get started to buy those? I never dealt with shares before but it sounds like a good idea
Starting a trading account is very simple, you have many to choose from, I prefer E-Trade. Read the website instruction on how to start an account, once open you can buy and sell all day. ;)

I would caution that some of these are highly speculative and there is a good chance you will lose your money. Safer plays are well established companies that can profit from the EV market and battery improvements. For example, Nissan is leading the way in production EV's with their Leaf and have a long history of car manufacturing. GE is in power generation and motor building. Tesla won't be releasing their next vehicle till 2012 or so, a lot can go wrong between now and then, and no promise it will be successful.
I have invested in some of the more speculative plays but they are small positions that I can afford to lose. If you are unfamiliar with stock investment buying something like Tesla as your only holding is like buying a lottery ticket, only more expensive.
