Hey guys I'm new here. I am looking to buy a jeep grand Cherokee with a blown engine to do an electric motor swap.

In my short research I have done so far and a bit of experience. Driven many miles in a tesla model s. I have come to a few conclusions - I want a powerful ac system with good range. This vehicle will be used primarily off road(sand dunes and trail riding).

Question - does anyone offer a kit for this type of application? I own a machine shop so it doesn't have to be a direct bolt on. If not can you point me in the direction of a build someone else did? Otherwise maybe we will have to go the direction of a custom build with your help.

Budget would be $10,000.00 roughly! EDIT: TO START ;)

It might be helpful to define how much power and range you want with numbers. Just keep in mind a Tesla S cost's $71k for a base model, $10k won't get you anywhere near that performance.

Lets say it needs to be capable of highway speeds and would like at least a 50-75 mile range. I will keep the transmission and t-case. It will be nice to have 4Lo out on the trail.
From a cost perspective you're going to get a lot more bang for your buck with a DC system. Though if you have the budget a Dual AC-30 is also a nice option.

Is regen a "must have"?
