i have succumbed to the ev revolution.
looking to convert a jensen to ev after speaking to a company who quoted 65k !!!!!!!!!!!
i have skills and friends but need some good info, thats why i am here

advise away please ........

I doubt AUD$65K is unusual - conversions involve a lot of labour and it's not unusual for companies doing conversions to want near US$100K for a converted VW. Of course you don't (directly) pay for your own labour, and you an used salvaged (rather than all new) parts so the DIY route isn't so expensive. :)

The general rule is that a DIY conversion will cost twice as much as a second hand Leaf and be half as good
If you have to pay to get it done it will cost twice as much as a new Tesla and end up half as good as a second hand Leaf

Conversion is like "Hot Rodding" -

Given that as a start the first and most important thing is the required range - That is the most important variable

Up to about 80 miles is easy - as you increase the range the cost and difficulty increase FAST
