Apologies to go slightly off topic, but can anyone chime in on the possibility of using a donor Nissan Leaf to electrify a Series II Land Rover (3 door short wheel base?
Any guidance or thoughts would be much appreciated, especially on the issue of whether the Nissan Leaf motor will have enough power to move the Land Rover along at a decent speed.
Even the least powerful Leaf motor (the original 80 kW) is substantially more powerful than any of the engines offered in the Series II... so yes, if installed with proper gearing, properly controlled, and supplied with an adequate battery, the Leaf powertrain will move the Land Rover along at least as well as the original engine. Whether or not that is a "decent speed" is a matter of opinion.
