Hello all
I'm doing a conversion on an old Fiat and I'll be using a first or second gen nissan leaf drivetrain (haven't picked one up yet, but either would work). I got a great deal on some gs yausa 45.2 nominal modules I'd love to run. Each is 45v nominal 50ah, and I'd love to run all 10 I've got in series -- but, the stock Leaf battery pack only runs 360v nominal, and I'd be running 450v nominal, maxing out just below 500v. Is that higher than the stock inverter can handle, and if so are there any modifications to be able to use that?

That's on a particular inverter I watched a teardown on quite a while ago and made notes for my own reference.

You'll need to verify that number. My point was that there's nothing in it for a manufacturer to use a bulkier, more expensive component. It's also illustrative that there's some safety margin in cap voltages for noise transients, inductive ringing, etc, so running them at pack voltage is asking for trouble and having things get all flamey.
