Most forklift motors are rated for under 48v but can be used up to 200V with modern IGBT controllers. I've got several low voltage controllers that would work well for you and would trade for info on those shops and possible help picking up a motor if I find one to buy! I can also help you make your own DC-chopper (architecture of dc controllers) I have several different types of IGBT and drivers if you wanted to give that a try instead. Hi there, what do you mean with: "Most forklift motors are rated for under 48v but can be used up to 200V with modern IGBT controllers" does this only account for DC motors? as i have found me the following motor, but i am not sure if this one is powerfull enough to move my car : 1300 kilo's.

That motor would work great and could also be overvolted to 200-300v as long as you stay under 2400rpm. I bet you could double that rpm and still be fine but if you want long life stay around the rated max. Most DC motors being used in conversions are only rated for 10-15kw so a 21kw rated motor will perform well in a conversion. What is the diameter?

Thank you for this information. But this is a AC motor. as far as I have understand it's not the same as DC so let's say this motor has 21KW on AC motor is not the same as 21KW on DC motor.

Yes exactly thank you for pointing to this. What are your thoughts about this motor? will this be suitable to move a 1300 Kilo car? by adding this AC motor directly to a manual gear?

Looks like it is a pump motor intermittent duty S3 25% but I don't know enough about forklift motors to really say.
so I would not get it..

Hmmppff to bad! what advice would you give me to find the correct AC motor? Where should I look at for example KW or Volts or Amperage or RPM? I prefer AC over DC as it is brushless and thus has longer life expectancy.

Look for a drive (traction) motor with a S1 rating, Maybe look for an induction forklift motor not even sure if they made them. I am not sure how much you can overvolt them. hopefully others know more about AC forklift moters then i do will post.
