I’m wanting to replace my 12 Pacifica lgchem batteries with new cells. Need lots of amps “Tesla ldu”. Would be great to have around 50kwh. What do y’all suggest? Catl, prismatic,? Thanks.

High amperage to me means using the traditional small cells like the 18650 or 21700 cells, prismatic has less surface area of interaction at the electrodes for the batteries and I have a personal aversion to pouch cells without ground up encapsulation frame work.

Next thought: what's your budget and interior volume? A 1:1 swap with the volume of the Pacifica batteries? More? Less?
Budget is whatever it takes within reason of course. $10k? I’ll need two packs. Rear is roughly 32x16x16
Front could be 32x24x8 with some more spots up there to be had. I’d delete the rear seat if I had to. Thank you for your help.
110 2170 M50LT 3.6v 5000mah 36v 1.98kWh - $98/kWh. Call it 25-26 of these, put, make a 95s30p configuration with perhaps a bit of wiggle room for bad cells/cooling architecture and a lot of patience on spot welding?

Should get you the power, at the cost of a fair amount of breaking down and rebuilding, dealers choice on BMS as long as you set aside a bit for that and it should likely keep you under 10k including whatever fab mods you need to do. Worth a thought.

Alternate though:

Get 8 of those, break them down and they claim that the prismatic cells are good for 200a continuous discharge, though i'd look at a spec sheet of those batteries to begin with 24 prismatic per, 8 gets you 48kwh and now you just do a 96s2p setup with a bunch of busbars rathet than a big ol spark soldering party. Should fit as well, unless I am missing something.

Just looking for cell ideas to build two 400v packs roughly 25kwh each. They need to be able to put out 1200 or so amps together in parallel for short bursts. 6-8 seconds.

Yes sir they are 40lb. I bought them in march last year. I would also just get some more except now 700 each is as cheap as I can find. Have you seen different?

True. I’m open to offers if you need these four.
What’s your zip code so can try to check shipping

the wood case I had these in wouldn’t hold it
any ideas how to compress them?
I was using ant bms as just equilizer becuse ant advertised 400amp continues
but it’s really just short peak
i have them in 2s3p. (3 ant equalizers) (Now 2p) heard 3p is max ??
the one inseries to the one that expanded showed 30v was able to recharge to 60v so far
thx

Ps my charger will only do 130v so that’s what I use about 4v per cell

my zip is 29487
I had them in angle iron frames.
Lithium batteries are hazardous goods (cannot go on their planes) and require specific labels and shipment classification. Check with UPS how they want the shipment packed and labeled.
