Hi new to this site

I've had this car a Lotus carlton for nearly 30 years - my 2 day to day cars are both EV's

Looking into the possibilty of converting to an EV

In standard form not slow 380bhp 419lb/ft not bad for 1990, sub 5 sec 0-60 175 mph

Straight 6 3.6L coupled to ZF 6 speed box and a Holden diff

Anyone done a similar conversion to an American car of similar spec and power ?

Got to consider whether a conversion woud kill its value ~$100k

I'm pretty sure that an EV conversion would kill the value of that car. It would make more sense to me to convert an ordinary Carleton/Omega , since the conversion would eliminate the engine which makes this Lotus version especially desirable anyway.
I think you are right, the car is in need of a refresh having not been used since 2003 - likely to be my retirement project
